LeT iT sNoW!!!

The Holidays are upon us! Woo Hoo! I love Christmas time and the special feeling it brings! The house is decorated, most of the shopping done, and some of the gifts wrapped. I'm trying to finish everything else, and its taking some time, but hopefully it will be done for Christmas! Decorating the house is one of my favorite things about the holidays. So as always... Here are some pics of our decorations!

Our Stockings are hung by the chimmney with care.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

And Our Christmas Village

Instead of getting an ornament every year, we decided that we would get a piece to a village. We have a few extra pieces because that is what Jim and Celeste give me for Christmas too. I have loved villages for a long time, and I'm so excited to get ours out every year!

And just another decoration.

Santa came early again (as he has every year, and probably will until we have kids), and he was good to us as always. He brought Justin what he calls "baby Samsung" which hangs on our wall in the bedroom. (Its baby because its smaller than the Samsung in the living room).

I guess this baby will have to do for awhile...

Santa also brought me a sewing machine, because my old one broke and I really need to be able to make some Christmas presents this year. And he also brought me a new MP3 player, which I'm really excited about! Justin wants to get memberships to Bradshaw's Gym, so I needed a good MP3 to go and work out with him. :) We are trying to get ready for our cruise too! I'm so ready to go. Justin doesn't quite share the amount of excitement that I do, but I think he is more excited than he lets on too. We are just waiting for passports to come in so we can finish all of our preboarding stuff, then we will pretty much have everything in order to go. Well that's about all for the Berg home. We have been really really busy, and the calander is full for the rest of the month, so I'm sure my posts will still be far and inbetween but... Happy Holidays Everyone!

This Afternoon....

We got a crazy idea to bake some fun stuff..... and so we did! We are so sick of having nothing good to eat around our house, and way sick of the money spent splurging at the stores on yummy food like this.... so we actually made our own!

Chocolate covered pretzels......
Yummy cracker mix...

Halloween Sugar cookies...

Muddy Buddy Chex Mix...

And......

Carmel Apples of Course!

Don't worry... the majority of everything is in the freezer....It has to be put away because it really won't help me with my diet I'm starting for our.....

CRUISE!!!!

Woo Hoo! We decided that it is time for us to go on a cruise. We are hoping to go on a 7 day Carribbean cruise in January! We got the days off.... now we are trying to get everything done for our passport applications and trying to get everything booked! We are so stinkin excited!

Other than that, nothing else is new. We have just been staying at home and going to work... That is the story of our lives!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

Bring on the Fall!

Well, its that time again. This summer has just flown by, I can't believe that it is pretty much gone. I am so exicted for fall to set in. I love the freezing cold mornings, crisp leaves, short days! I'm so ready for fall! I have alot of outside projects to finish this weekend so that we can really be ready. Justin has been working really hard on our shed for us. And his work is really paying off. The outside is almost complete! I can't believe that our backyard went from looking like this...

To this...
And finally.... THIS!!!
Its still a work in progress. Justin went to put up our vents the other day... And they were blue! So we won't be able to finish the siding until we make another trip to Utah within the next couple of weeks. We are painting the door red, then we are going to put up the white trim on the door, to make it look like a real barn door. I'm so excited! Here is one more picture that shows the best part...

The Turbine! I think it is so stinkin cute!

I didn't take any pictures of the inside... because it is a mess. We are hoping to start the electrical, and the insulation this weekend... Then finish the loft, and maybe then I will take a pic!

While Justin's been doing this...

I've been doing THIS!!

Dang blogger won't let me delete, or turn this picture around. Sorry!

These are my dang cute little girl, and little boy quilts. I still need to app. them so they are a little hard to see right now, but once I get them finished, they will be So cute!!!! And just for the record... No we are not expecting a baby. I just want to get these done before we have one, because once we do, I won't have the time to do them I'm sure!

This is my other project.... I'm hoping to get done before Christmas. This is a stinkin cute tree skirt, and I love it! Man, Valley Fabric has the cutest patterens! The babies will have to hold on for awhile... I have to start Christmas presents in the near. Future... Yes Christmas is coming fast!

Justin and I also found the time to go camping. It was a much needed get away. And was a total blast! I feel bad for people who live in the city that don't know how many stars in the sky there really are, or don't get to see deer beside your camp. It is so beautiful!

Seriously... how much prettier can your front yard get?

Justin and I have been trying to get fancy in the kitchen too. We made salsa a few days ago, and yesterday I made homemade bread! We haven't been able to have homemade bread forever because our house has been so hot! It tasted so good!

We don't have much else planned for the rest of the summer. Just finish up our projects that we didn't get done at the beginning of the summer. Hopefully we will knock a bunch out with our extra long weekend. Justin has the phone and is on call, so we can't go anywhere anyways! We will probably make a trip down to the fort to have a navaho taco and some root beer! Hopefully I can post some fun finished projects after this weekend!

Quote

Hi again, I know what your thinking... Megan blogging to days in a row? CRAZY! But I wanted to share a quote that Lyndee posted this morning on face book that I totally LOVE!!

You are what you think. Think it Today, become it tomorrow. Nothing can Help you or hurt you as much as the thoughts you carry in your head.
Nothing much has changed since yesterday. Justin with the help of his dad and brother got the floor of our shed done today. I'll post pics as more of it comes up. Right now the lights in my house are flickering from them using the power outside so hopefully they don't trip the breaker. It was a long Wednesday for me today. Wednesday means ortho day, which means working with a bunch of teenagers, but it was a good day and only got crazy once. I love my job! It ended wonderfully! I got to take out about 8 stitches by myself! It was so cool! I've done a few before, but usually had some one with me, but today I did it! It was my favorite part of the whole day! Well... I best be off doing my quilt block ( Class is on Saturday) so if I want to get the next one free I had better get movin on it!

Just Living Our Lives

Well, where to begin! This past week and a half has been completely hectic! I had a week off last week and it was wonderful! I love working, but at the same time it was nice to have a few days off to do what I wanted to do. On monday I got my hair cut and dyed, and I completely love it! I went more blond and got it cut pretty short. It is so easy to take care of, and is so stinkin cute, even when I don't have time to do it! Tuesday night my mom and I went to the Bridger Valley Home Show. It was a blast! I had no idea that there were so many beautiful houses in Lyman, it really makes me want to get on the ball and paint my house! On Wed we went to Lagoon, something that we both love doing, but only get to go once a year. But it was a blast. The middle of the week is the time to go! We didn't ever wait in a line over 15 minutes, and we got to ride the rides we wanted to go on a ton! Thursday was my relax day, even though it was pretty busy too. And Friday and Saturday we were at Home Depot...blah! Friday was ok, and so was Saturday... for the first 3-4 hours or so... we ended up leaving from the valley at 6:30 a.m. and we didn't get home until 9:30 p.m. Granted we had 2 trips of lumber to bring home but it was still a really long day! So what are we building you ask?... A shed! We have been planning on it all summer, but finally got our butts in gear. Justin, Jim, My Dad, and Bronson have all worked on it off and on the past 2 days, but at least the floor is almost done and the ground is level! I'm so excited for it to be built and done! It will have a big gambrel roof, with a loft in it! And the best part is... we are saving a ton of money doing it ourselves! We looked at the kits at home depot, and for them to be installed and everything was well over 6 thouand dollars to build, when we are building ours for about 2. It will be wonderful once its completed! After the shed is built, we will be awaiting the well permit to come in... so we can start our wall and water tank so we will be ready for the sprinkler system and sod next year. Which reminds me that I need to have Justin fill up the weed eater so that I can try and weed wack in the morning so we no longer will have a jungle. That is all that we really have been up to for the past couple of days. I actually got up and walked with my mom and sisters this morning, which felt really good and my turbo jam dvd's finally came in today, so hopefully I'll be more on the ball with my exercising too. If any of you are like me, and hate running, and don't have very much ambition to exercise yourself then turbo jam is the way to go. I borrowed my mom's and loved it so much that I bought my own, and it will be completely worth it! We dont' have much planned the next few weeks, probably just working on the shed, and going on bike rides. I'm into the cooking thing again too, which has been nice. I loose all ambition for cooking for a week or two, then the next few weeks I love to cook, its kinda weird, but oh well at least I'm doing it now. Well that's all for now thats going on in our lives. Hopefully some day we will have something fun to show!

Alive

Well, this will be just a quick post, before my amazing hubby gets home!! I'm really greatful for the ot he has been working both last weekend and this weekend... But I'm really missing him tonight! We are still alive, just have been working nonstop the past couple weeks, so I have nothing really to talk about. Not next week, but the week after I get the week off for my vacation so we are trying to plan a few things! Lagoon is something on the list and we are really looking forward to it! We need a vacation after all of Justins overtime and all of my deep cleaning! It seems like whenever he works any ot I end up cleaning the house like crazy! I'm going to finally get my hair cut and redyed too! It will feel so good to have it done again!

Last night Justin and I went on a date. We had dinner with his parents in Evanston. We ate some really really good prime rib and then Justin and I went to The Proposal! It was such a good movie, there were 2 times that are close your eyes parts, but overall it is an awesome movie and will keep you laughing the whole time!

Well, its not long, but at least everyone knows we are still alive! I'll post more fun soon I hope!

Catch Up

Wow, since joining facebook, I have kinda ignored my blog. So I guess its time to catch up! We have spent the past 3 weekends doing yardwork. 2 trips to the dump, and about 20 garbage cans later, our yard looks tons better. We straightened out our gravel, took junk to the garbage, made flowerbeds minus the flowers, just got them ready for another year. We had to go to homedepot to buy a weed wacker, and ended up getting some flowerpots and flowers that I planted, and I love having some color! Annie graduated, and I'm way excited for her. Its just so weird that she is old enough to move out and go out into the real world. We went to her graduation and then Justin and I went to Star Valley for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. It was wonderful to just get out of the valley, away from the house, and have a few days off of work. We are so lucky that his grandparents have a beautiful home up there that we can go stay in and have a few days to ourself. We went shopping in Jackson, went golfing, watched movies, and just spent some good quailty time with each other. Now I'm home, and Justin is working swings so...I'm glad we had the weekend. Happy anniversary Honey. I'm so lucky to be married to you. You are so wonderful! I love you!

Inside our Lives

Wow, a am totally in shock that it is already May. Last month I turned 21, Landon turned 16, and Rachel turned 13. It is so crazy how fast my brothers and sisters are growing up. This was the toughest birthday for me so far, I really didn't want to turn 21. I was happy and content at 20, but you can't really stop a birthday. It was fun, I went to Provo with my parents while Justin stayed home and worked. When I got home the kitchen was clean... weird Justin doesn't usually clean the kitchen on his own, but he cleaned it because his family and my family suprised me and came over with a cake. It was pretty fun. Thanks to everyone who made my birthday a special one.
These are the knobs that Celeste bought me for my birthday to update 0ur dressers and nightstand.

And here is the book my mom bought me that I have really wanted to display, and one of the trees we bought from Ikea.

Justin and I also started painting our house, something that we have needed to do, and haven't. But since we bought a car instead of doing a yard this year, we decided that we would do the inside home improvements this year, so we started with our bathroom. Its not all the way done yet (edging is a pain), and we need to go buy new trim, but its done for the most part, and completely livable. Its pretty wild, but we love the colors. I want to splash some pink, and a brighter green into it, but well, funds are always low aren't they, so we just do what we can and will use what we have for right now. Justin also put shoe shelves in our closet for us. When Celeste was building her house, she read a thing that said nothing should be on the floor in your closet, so Justin, Bronson, and Kade, put shoe shelves up for me, yea:)

One side of the bathroom, its blue and dark brown, don't mind the trim not being up!

Here is looking from the other way, I couldn't get a good pic of the shower, it looked too black, but it looks nifty too!

Here are half of the wonderful shelves the boys bought for me :) Thanks boys!

We also got to go speak to the youth in our ward last week for a fireside with Weston and Lacy Maxfield. We got to speak about going to the temple and what it ment to us. I was so greatful for that opportunity. When you sit down to think of what to tell the youth about the temple, you remember just how wonderful the temple is. Justin and I are sealed forever, and we will be able to go live with our heavenly father again someday. It is wonderful to think about all the blessings we have recieved this past year from going to the temple. It will be 2 years since we've been married the first of next month, and will be 1 year since we have gone through the temple a week after that. What an amazing year for the both of us. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for the opportunity that we had to go to the temple.

My calling is going good. Some weeks it seems like I reach out to the kids more than others, but we have fun and learn along the way. Next week we will be singing for the first time since I've been chorister, in sacrement, and while I'm a little worried about it, I'm so proud of the kids in my ward and all the hard work they put into singing for their mothers. I'm so grateful for my calling, I'm loving every minute of it!

Last Tuesday Justin was able to take the day off with me and go to a Dr. appt (no, no babies on the way). It was so nice to go stay in a hotel the night before, and just get away for awhile. After my appointment we went to Tai Pan, and Ikea, and Costco of course. We didn't spend much (I'm sure Justin was thrilled that we didn't), but we did get some vases, bamboo plants, and 2 other plants, curtin rods, place mats, ya know, the good old things to make your house a home. After that we went to the zoo which was so much fun, neither of us had been there for a really long time, and even though they are kinda low on big animals right now, it was so much fun to go and see all the animals that they did have.

Speaking of the animals, here is the quilt block that we are doing this year. The pattern is from Geralyn Powers. This is the first thing that I have ever really hand sewn, and I love the way its turning out. The first two quiltblocks are totally done, the lion I still need to sew around.

Jan/ Feb Quilt block, there was alot of work on this one.

March Quilt Block

April's Quilt Block

This is the cute lion, Jana had some fuzzy material she gave me for the mane and tail, and I love it!

Other than that, the Bergs have been pretty boring lately, hopefully one day life will slow down a little bit, I'm sure it won't, but its always worth a hope:)

We did it!!! Finally!

Yup, we finally did it, we finally bought a CAR! We bought a new to us, used to someone else, 2007 Poniac Grand Prix. We are super excited for our newest addition. Our good old honda died last July, and we've just been driving the trucks ever since, so its kinda nice to have a small car that we can whip around in.

Sorry, it was dark when we got out of the carwash, and I was going to retake them today, but we've had weird mud stormes lately, so its pretty dirty.

And the best part is that it has air conditioning!!! Something the poor honda lacked... RIP

Silver on the outside, black in the middle. I love it!

Here is a pic of my new stainless steel bowls that Justin was sweet enough to buy me. I've been looking for a set ever since we got married, but they are way stinkin expensive, and I finally found some at the For your Kitchen store in Ogden for an awesome price I'm so excited!

And last but not least... The Berg residence is no longer a Dish Network member. We finally did it, we finally called and got rid of it. For the last few weeks (since my no tv mode) we have hardly even touched the remote, so... we finally got it cancelled. We have had so much more time to just spend together which has been wonderful, and we don't miss it at all!

Valentine's and President's Day

Justin and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day. I had quilt block (yes I got it done!), then had to work til one and after that Justin and I were just able to relax and.... MAKE COOKIES! I'm so proud of us because they turned out so dang cute. We made a cookie sucker for each member of our families here in the valley.

Justin rolling out the dough

And carefully cutting them out.

Us waiting for them to cook, we were pretty restless at this point...

Finally! Me Frosting the cookies.

Almost done...

The finished Product, aren't they so stinkin cute?

It was fun just to be able to spend time together. Sunday, the primary kids were restless. I was so tired by the end of primary that it was crazy. Then during sacrament we had some really good speakers, but it was hard to hear from all the little kids running around, screaming, crying, and laughing. For the first time I was glad that I wasn't a parent on Sunday, because I think we would have gone through the same thing. Today we both had the day off so we headed down to SLC with Bronson to pick up a new bed for him and Misty. We had to stop and Smith's and Wal-mart too. I bought a whole bunch of produce( I could hardley fit all of the veggies in the veggie drawer), but I bought enough produce for me to cook a unfrozen meal for the next two weeks. I was so suprised at how much cheaper groceries are when you don't buy the frozen stuff. Hopefully this will help us both keep shedding off the pounds, or at least balance it out for all the cookies we have been eating this weekend!

HaPpEnInGS

Do you ever have those days when your just plain sick of TV? Yesterday I deleted tons of my shows. I'm so sick of TV. There are three shows that I can't part with quite yet; Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, and Private Practice, but the rest are history. I almost called and cancelled our dish because I've finally realized the rut we have gotten into watching so many shows. We have tried to spend more time as a family instead of watch TV. Its amazing how much more time you have for each other when the TV isn't such a major distraction. I feel so free not feeling like I have to watch it.
I can't believe we are almost in the middle of Feb. It is crazy how fast this year is already flying by. Lots has happened, yet I still don't have much to blog about. I got a new calling...as primary chorister. I LOVE MY CALLING! We have such a blast in primary. I have been teaching for the past 3 weeks, and have loved every minute of it. In fact, I just got done getting songs ready for this week. We are going to play a game with conversation hearts I'm going to make. I'm pretty excited.
Justin took me to Utah for our Valentines day, since he might go snowmobiling, and I have to work. We went shopping (of course) and I got 2 new dresses! I've needed some new ones because mine are all getting too big:) yea! We had to do the Costco thing too. Then we went to the movie, He's just not that into you (I didn't like it at all and neither did Justin, all the funny parts are on the trailer), but even though we didn't like it, it was still nice to just go to a movie and relax for awhile. Then we went to Timbermine. It is one of our favorite places to go eat. We went there on our honeymoon and have been back probably 4 times since, just on special occasions cuz its pretty expensive. Justin can get his prime rib and I can get my seafood. You sit in your own little shaft and its like your in an old rustic mine. It is so fun to go to! If anyone is interested, its in Ogden just google it and you'll find the address.
My quilt block isn't quite done... still lol. It will be done before saturday though! Justin moved it one day and lost a piece to it! So, being the sweet guy that he is he went to the fabric store and got me the material to make a new piece. How many guys do you know that will go to the fabric store by themselves to get a piece of fabric for their wife? I sure have a pretty dang good guy.
Oh, I got my hair cut and dyed, finally! I'm finally over the dark hair thing and I'm back to being blonde. We are starting to kinda invisline my teeth and get them back to being straight. I work with the best people at the dentist office! I got my teeth cleaned last week too. and the best news... I've lost 10 pounds!! Yea! I'm so excited. I've been on this watching what I eat kick lately, and excerising with Kimberly has helped too. Thanks girl! Getting married sure puts on those happy pounds, but I'm hoping to finally have them under control!
Beyond this, not much else is happening in the Berg house. Just work and work, and more work. We're pretty boring huh? I'm just thankful that we both have jobs, and that we both enjoy our jobs. I love where I work, and the people I work with! I'm so lucky to have such a fun job in the valley!

2009 Here we go!

2008 is gone, and 2009 is here, I can't believe it. This year has already started to go really fast. It's so crazy. The Holidays treated us really good this year. Lots of time to spend with family, and lots of time to spend with each other. We love the WII, it is a blast. We play it quite a bit and love it. Justin uses his new MP3 player a ton and seems to like it. I'm glad to have my new clothes and my Photoshop elements. I'm working on my New Year resolutions and so far I'm doing ok. I had quite a list this year, but I'm working my hardest them, from reading my scriptures every day, to getting up earlier, exercising more, being more patient, etc...
Its been really crazy here at the Berg house, which really confuses me because it doesn't seem like we have been doing much since the Holidays. Weird, I know... I had to go back to work on the fifth and worked 6 days that week, and four days this week. Justin has worked all his usual hours plus a ton. He already has 12 hours of OT in the past too weeks, and is working all day today and possibly tomorrow. The paycheck will be nice, but until then I get to be really bored sitting at home. My house is a mess, but I'm not in the mood to clean it quite yet, my holiday puzzle still needs finished, I'm catching up on my blog, which is something I can cross off my list, the bed needs made, the dishes need done, ironing... Man its never going to end!
I also started quilt block of the month again this year, and I will finish this year! I'm really excited to do it, and I'm really glad that I have some awesome friends/coworkers to do it with. When I see them every day it reminds me that I need to do it when I get home. We work the 2nd week of the month, every month, which is the same day as quilt block so we go to quilt block then straight to work, I really like the way it has worked out. Its going to be a really cute baby quilt. The first block is Noah's ark, and the rest will be the animals. I'm just about done with this month's block, and I'll post it when I get it completed. My goal is to get a few baby quilts done this year, so I'll be ready for when Justin and I have a baby. No we are not pregnant, but I just want to be ready for when we are.
I'm really glad our shows are back on! We like the TV in this house, which isn't really a good thing. But its nice to get home from work, and relax in front of the TV while organizing paperwork, sewing, or just snuggling with my hubby on the couch. Spending time to gether is something that we have always enjoyed, but have really really enjoyed lately. I am so lucky that I have such an amazing husband who loves me so much. Sometimes you just wake up and realize how much your husband means to you. Its crazy how much you can love one person. I'm so glad that I will be with him for time and all eternity. I'll stop boring you all with the muchy gushy stuff. Hope everything is going well for everyone!
