A Little Bit Of This.... A Little Bit Of That

I think I need to start naming my posts "renovating my home part 1,2,3 etc." It seems like all I post are things that I do around our house, but I guess that's because that's all it seems like we do sometimes. Welcome to being a homeowner. So sorry, but I'm going to post my newest project. As we now know..... Modulars come with a crappy flat paint that doesn't like to stay on the wall very nicely. This fall we are hoping to paint the house completely, but for now the best I'm able to do is the closets, (because we had the leftover white paint from when we painted the bedroom). I painted them all this winter, but saved the best for last which i finally acclompished last weekend.... THE PANTRY..... I wasn't looking forward to it at all. It is a BIG pantry, and there is A TON of food in it. But since Justin was on his crappy schedule... and he was a gimp anyways (I'll explain later) I finally got the ambition to do it since I had nothing else to do over the weekend. So here are my before, during, and after pictures :)
Before!!!
During... It looks like we had a grocery store, these were only 2 cabinents filled with food.

After! Much more organized... and a better paint job! (and no that is not a bottle of champange, it is a bottle of sparkling apple cider left over from New Year's)

I've been playing Nurse lately. Like I said, Justin has been a bit of a "gimp" lately. He got his hand burned at work, thanks to a malfunctioning radiator cap. Needless to say... I'm getting really good at wrapping hands if anyone ever needs help! He's been going to work still, but he has been on light duty, and hasn't been able to enter the mine all week. Instead he has been cleaning, "staying out of sight and mind", and blasting with dynomite. Anyways, I wanted to post pictures of his hand.... be aware, they are pretty gross!

This is what I came home too, Justin with a little red cast waving at me. I'm a mean wife and laughed at him... in fact, I am smiling just thinking about it lol.

This was the main blister before they drained it. it looks like he has a slug on his thumb. You can see the skin flap from the other blister, and below that is a big red spot where he also got burned.

Here is a blurry picture of his thumb now.... Blogger won't let me delete it. Does anyone else have this problem?

Here is a little better picture.

We haven't been doing much more than that lately. We have been drawing up plans for the front yard so we can get started on the landscaping. YEA! This was supposed to happen last year... but we ended up buying a car instead. I think we have figured out what we want finally with the yard, and now we just have to go and get the stuff. Brent and Elizabeth... You will be glad to know that we are going to do a little to the back yard... even if it is just pouring a cement pad for the bbq! Tomorrow we are going to go and look at stone, sprinkler system, and other yard decor so we can finally make our mud hole, a pretty place!

For Natalie...

I've been lovingly told that I don't update my blog enough..... so Natalie Jo, this post is for you. Where we haven't done anything lately, I've had a hard time wanting to blog, because there is nothing to blog about, but we will give it a shot. Right now Justin and I are watching Harry Potter 2. Exciting huh? Its almost 9:30 pm, and Justin has exactally 1 hour and 15 minutes before he has to go off to grave yards. I have to say, I hate weeks like this! It seems like we acclompish nothing during the weeks of graves and swings.

On the upside, we celebrated my 22nd birthday this week. It was a wonderful day! I have such wonderful family and friends! And an amazing husband of course! My dad took me out to lunch, and mine and Justin's family were able to go to a delicious dinner at Goin' South! My favorite! Justin and his mom came up with a devious plan to have them bring me cake and sing to me.... well only half of the plan worked, thank goodness! I still got to enjoy my birthday cake, without being made a fool! I have lots of shopping to do with money and gift cards :), and I have a beautiful bokay of flowers that remind me of how wonderful of a husband I have.

The warm weather has been lovely lately. We were able to have our first bbq of the year (after 2 days of trying and the wind deciding to blow like crazy), and we are toying with the idea of getting the bikes out soon! We are getting ready for summer, getting ideas for landscaping and porches, rock and cement, flowers and trees.... It seems like alot of money and time... but it will be worth it when we are done! No more mud and no more dirt hitting my windows! Ahhh, just the though!

Well, I know this isn't the most interesting post to read... but its the best I can do for now!

Lately...

I've been a slacker as usual lately. I really need to keep up on the blog a little more! Life is going good in the Berg home. Just busy busy busy as usual! Justin's schedule has been changed 3 times in the past month... Putting him back on graves... They actually haven't been too bad though. I hated them before but now that I'm working every day, it actually works out quite well. Right how he is working 4 10's... which I'm not so excited about. He has Sunday, Monday, Tuesdays, off for right now, so there goes my weekends. I can't complain too much today, he got to work 10 hours of triple time. A thousand dollar day kinda makes up for it I guess :) But I'm glad this schedule only will last a month or so! So with this weird schedual, and the addition of graves, I've had a lot more time on my hands giving me time to work on some new projects! I'm kinda late posting some of these (some were done in Febuary), but I'm going to post them still!

This is an apron I made for Annie for her Birthday... I think it turned out cute!

These Diaper and wipes case I made for baby Kaizley! With a matching.......

Diaper Bag! I was so proud of how it turned out! Yea, I'm that good :) Lol, just kidding, I'm a work in progress, but I'm enjoying every minute!

Remember that bathroom I posted about last year around this time...... Well the walls were all painted, except one that I changed the color on, but I finally got all the edging done, and Justin put up the trim for me. I love how it turned out!

Blue and brown, not black, its hard to get the camera to pick up the brown!

Just a few more pics of the bathroom....

Justin's been working on his shed. We got a bunch of FREE peg board from Pamida... Thanks Terry! Justin's been covering the walls with the peg board... its turning out really nice!

Some of what he's done...

And our latest project....

We painted the laundry room..... Yes we painted it white! I was sick of the eggshell color, and we needed it a bit brighter in there because there is no window. I really love how it turned out! ( the laundry in the dryer has only been there a few hours... promise!)

I have about a million other projects that need to be done... Like spring cleaning. I got the kitchen almost done today... It only took me seven hours... and the drawers and shelves had already been wiped down! Oh well, another room allmost down! I'm hoping to get some of my other sewing projects done soon too... so maybe in another 2 months I will have more pictures to show! Other than that.... we are just living and lovin life! Hope you are too!

Cruise Post!!!

Yes, we have been home for two weeks... I've just been to lazy to post. We had a complete blast on the cruise! We went on a 7 day cruise on Princess' Emerald Princess boat. We went on an Eastern Caribbean cruise and were able to hit 3 of the 4 ports. We would do it again right now if we had the days off... and the money! It was a little different to vacation with 2x the amount of people in Lyman! The ship held 3080 passangers, plus crew! Big ship... tiny showers... suction pottys, the fanciest meals either one of us have ever eaten, pizza every night at midnight, late shows outside by the pool, 24 hour buffet, and a ton of fun!!!!! I wish I could share all the 624 pictures we took... but I think everyone would be bored, so I'll just share a few. THE SHIP

Us in Ft. Lauderdale, right before we set sail.

We were lucky enough to have a balcony room--- which we totally enjoyed. The pool was really crowded so it was nice to be able to be outside.. but have some quiet too. We enjoyed the blue blue water and the warm weather off of our little balcony.

We couldn't make it to our first port- Princess Cayas, Bahamas- because the waves were too big to take the tenders to shore.

The next stop was St. Maarten. We were able to go to the zoo there-- and get a great tour of the island. The zoo was small, and their cages were pretty much chain link fences. It was kinda sad to see the shape of the zoo, but fun to be able to see all of the tropical animals that they have.
St. Maarten

I also got a new ring (we decided to get an upgrade now, because it probably won't happen after we have kids)
This pic does no justice--- but I have to show it anyways :)
It has blue and white diamonds....ahhh heaven!

The next stop was the beautiful island of St. Thomas. Here we shopped in the morning and went to Magen's Bay in the afternoon! My favorite place because it has my name!

St. Thomas

Magen's Bay-- crazy expensive for food here! This was the 1 port that Justin and I bought any type of food on--- a can of sprite-- complete with christmas trees on the can 2 bucks!

We had a ton of drunk people on this tour with us... stinky... but really really funny to watch them and listen to their conversations.

Our last stop was at Grand Turk. Here we did some snorkeling which was so much fun! After snorkeling we went on a stingray safari where we got in the water and held the sting rays. A little scary, but I would do it again in a heart beat!

We know, We know-- a funny pic, go ahead and laugh-- we look like a bunch of scooba steves!

Holding the stingrays!

We also got some family pics taken on the ship-- and paid a crazy amount for them "all sitting are free" but they sure get ya if you actually buy them, but I don't know if I'll ever see Justin in a suit again... so its worth it. These are my 2 favorite that we got taken.

Formal Night

So, that is it-- our trip in a nutshell. I would recommend a cruise to anyone. Hopefully we will be able to go on another one within the next few years!
