Catchin’ Up #2 Livin’ on the Edge!

Ok, so now onto my second catch up post! Justin and I were in need of a serious date. Its been a really long time since we had been on one, so I decided on an Ogden trip. Justin was a good sport, and just a little grouchy! He had gotten off his last grave that morning, so he was pretty tired. I drug him around Hobby Lobby for awhile, then the mall and Costo.  I found a little place that we could miniature golf at. So we headed over there, and played 36 holes. It was honestly a blast! We plan on going back to try their black light course! When we bought our passes for golf, they gave us money for the arcade as well. I kicked Justin’s butt in racing, and stood up pretty well against him in hunting. It was fun.

Golfing

The next day was crazy! We had the Maxfield family reunion in the morning. It was my first Maxfield reunion experience, and even though there were a lot of people I didn’t know, it was still fun. We ran over to Sarah and Andrew’s wedding reception, then washed the truck before heading to Utah for…… WEEKEND ON THE EDGE with Brit and Wes. We got there about two hours early…. since they had it posted wrong on the internet, but we got great seats, ate pizza and snow cones, and had an overall great time! The testosterone in the parking lot after the pulls, with all the men and their big trucks….HOLY COW!

Just a test!

Ok, so I’ve decided to try and use a new blog buddy –Windows live Writer- so we will see how this goes!

I am able to use all my personal fonts…. Love this!

And edit pictures—this is sweet!

When you post your draft to your blog—it shows up as a draft, so all you have to do is post it from there!

I think this may be my new best friend! Now maybe I’ll blog more!

Lazy Days

Ok, maybe the post should be called Crazy Days. Really, life has been busy, I've just been too busy to blog about it :).... Ok, I've been too into watching One Tree Hill, I'll admit it Brit :).  I'm going to be playing catch up, so lets start with Utah! My cousin is getting married this Saturday, and my aunt is making the cake, so we went down to help her with the fondant flowers for the cake. The flowers dried out really fast, but it was still fun!

While we were there, my aunt pulled out some old cake decorating books that were my great grandmas. I couldn't believe the cakes in them! The funny part was, in all the how to pictures, it was men showing you how to decorate the cakes. I thought that was pretty interesting.

These were my fav. All of that shiny stuff is pulled taffy that has
hardened. I mean, you pull, and pull, and pull until it sets up, then
you mold it to fit your cake. Look at those bows! I
Have no Idea how they do that!

Closer picture of the taffy bows!

My sisters were down in Provo school shopping, so I detoured that way first, and we were all able to have girls lunch together. It was a blast! We need to do that more often!
Don't worry, I just got my hair cut and dyed.... so no more unflattering pony
tails for me!

And last but not least..... Justin had a birthday! He turned 26 this year! He is gettin old! I made him a sweet cake, Dodge all the way baby! I've had this cake planned for awhile, and had everything to make it but when I got it out..... my piping gel had completely dried out (I'm not sure why, Its never been opened, and my teacher has had hers for years, mine was brand new!) So I had to try and freehand alot of it, so its not perfect, but it still turned out pretty good. Justins parents, grand parents, sisters family, and my family all showed up to celebrate the occasion :) It was a pretty fun night!

Ok, so here is a start. Now I just have the other of the half of the month to go!

Winnings, Losings, and a Whole Bunch of Fun!

We had a WONDERFUL weekend! Starting off with me gettin out of work early Friday, followed by 2 Softball games, we won one, and lost one. Got up early on Saturday, Justin went to the golf tournament, while I got ready for the parade. Parade went great! We had kids come ride with us, and even though Janet and I had to run some of the little kids bikes to catch up with the bigger kids, I would say it was a success! BBQ tasted wonderful! (Ok, it always does but still...) I went home after the BBQ.... and took a solid nap. I guess runnin the entire parade route about killed me! Had 2 more games on Saturday, lost both, but hey at least I made a few points for our team that day! Rodeo was fun that night, its just fun to be in that atmosphere!

Justin and his golf team did ok. They only came in 3rd this year, however, Justin played an amazing personal game! He recieved the longest drive award (I was suprised too :)), and it sounds like he had a blast! I guess those Pamida special golf balls we had to buy the night before when we realized we didn't have any, worked great!

He bought us both hats :) Some... better than Pamida golf balls, and won the lovely trophy sitting on top of my silhouette :)

I think now, I'm ready for bed. I'm really really sore from softball, in fact, I hope I can make it to the bed. Night!
